About Catherine Berube
Catherine A. Berube is running for re-election for Strafford County Register of Deeds. Catherine is in her tenth year serving as Register of Deeds for Strafford County. She is a founding partner in the Dover law firm of Bruton and Berube, PLLC, however, she has taken leave of practicing law while serving as Register of Deeds. Catherine is also an adjunct professor at the University of New Hampshire, teaching law related courses for the past 20 years.
Catherine Berube is a resident of Dover, New Hampshire. She attended Somersworth High School and earned her BA at the University of New Hampshire and earned her Juris Doctorate from Suffolk University Law School. She has been an attorney for thirty-five years.
Register Berube has served on various boards including, My Friend’s Place Homeless Shelter, The Malley Farm Boys’ Home, and Saint Mary Academy Advisory Board. She is currently a board member of New Hope Adoption Agency. Register Berube is also an active parishioner at St. Ignatius of Loyola parish.
Attorney Berube and her husband of thirty years, Attorney Francis X. Bruton, III have three adult children, Ellen, Aidan, and Kate.
Candidate Statement
My priorities in managing the Registry of Deeds continue to be fiscal responsibility, customer service, staying current with technological advances and legislative issues, as well as, maintaining and preserving the legal and historical documents that are recorded at the registry. I currently serve as the President of the New Hampshire Registry of Deeds Association, previously serving as vice-president.
