About Deanna Rollo
Deanna Rollo is a long-time Rollinsford resident, who served five terms in the New Hampshire House, three of them in a leadership position. She is currently serving her third full term as a County Commissioner.
Priority Issue
Deanna believes that all seniors should have the freedom to live out their lives with dignity. She is running for re-election as County Commissioner to help replace the aging county nursing home. While the current facility has a competent staff, they are forced to deal with keeping our residents safe and comfortable in an increasingly challenging environment.
While serving as commissioner, Deanna was shocked to discover that, in the wintertime, nursing home staff struggled to keep the residents warm by dressing them in their winter coats and stuffing blankets around windows that didn’t close. This summer, staff were bringing in fans and ice to keep the residents from overheating. Seniors are adversely affected by extreme temperatures, so these conditions put their health at risk. It is to the credit of the dedicated staff at Riverside that these conditions are being addressed to keep our residents comfortable.
The design of the new facility suggested by the commissioners would meet current Medicaid requirements and correct the problems of too few showers and bathrooms for the number of residents. The new facility would create a temperature-controlled living space for our residents with enough modern amenities to allow them to live out their lives with dignity.
Additionally, the new facility would provide a more efficient work environment for our staff and likely would reduce the cost of utilities. Finally, the new facility would provide space for programs for seniors who wish to remain at home and can benefit from stay-at-home care.
